Pixum
For a good few years now I have used an online digital photo processing company called Pixum. Although they are based in Germany, their products are available throughout Europe. After initially reading a review of Pixum in a computing magazine in 2004, I decided to try their services with their introductory offer of 10 free prints (note that this is now 25). The prints arrived three days after ordering (which considering they came from Germany is pretty quick service) and was impressed with the quality and colour reproduction. The glossy paper used also felt thick and durable, as you would expect from any professional printing company. Since then I have never looked back and have been a regular customer of Pixum ever since. Last year they even set up their own lab in the UK, where mainly photo prints and a few of their other products are produced for UK customers, the rest still come from Germany. I have purchased mugs, posters, jigsaws, mousemats, keyrings, t-shirts, canvas prints, photo books and have never been disappointed with the service or quality. Their prices are extremely competitive when compared to similar UK based companies. All orders are charged in Euros but prices are displayed in your local currency to give you a good idea of how much you may be charged. I highly recommend their photo book product. It's essentially a printed photo album but using their software, you can choose the style, layout and photos to suit your personal taste before ordering. The end result looks very professional and is great for having a collection of photos in the form of a book. I also rank their customer service as some of the best I have experienced. When I have needed to contact them, they've always responded within a working day. Their website is easy to use and you also get 1GB of storage for your photos. Overall I'm more than happy with the services they provide. |
